Hi, This is dakzky the creator of rogue courier. And I'm here to speak up about AI art protests.
As you may already know, many artists are up in arms about it. They are angry. I understand the emotion,
but I think the steps taken are reckless. It's come to a point that artists such as Sam does arts, Steven zapata, etc
are asking for govenment protection. And i have a problem with that.
You see, artists like us gravitates toward anarchy, we want less constrainsts as much as possible. Asking the powers at be is the
antithesis of that natural urge. Protection equals constraints. In case you did'nt know, governments are only willing to protect you
if you gave away your freedom. It's a double edged sword. Everything that the government touches is a double edged sword. 9-11 much?
hmmm?... anyone?... come one people. Is this really what we want? Does artists like us really want a version of the "patriot act"
put in place to protect artist from AI art? Are we thinking straight here? like seriously? Because this is where i can see this
movement is going. I can already imagine what follows that once that so called "protection" takes hold.
It's naive to think the government is our friends. No, the government is not our friend. It's only interested in growing it's power
so it can screw our cornholes a little bit deeper. What these anti-AI people are trying to do is offering more of their behinds just
to be protected from AI art. Is this really the case now? Becuase if AI companies are the enemy then why ask the government that
bullies us for so long, for protection? They are highly likely to be in cahoots already. They probably predicted this will happen and
planned accordingly. And these artists with louder voices than I am is taking the bait.
We can surely get in to all kinds of conspiracy theories but my point is this. People needs to calm the fuck down. Hear me out here.
Artist can probably say AIs have no right to collect your data/ artstyles. But neither do we. Artist such as me have no the right
to claim an AI generated image neither. Because art styles cannot be copyrighted. Let me repeat that again. Art styles cannot be be
copyrighted. Artists can only own copyright on a specific piece of art, but not the style of that copyrighted art. It's gonna be a
stretch to push the powers at be to enforce artstyle copyright, which will result to us be prohibited to also collect data/ artstyles
from other artist as well. The whole thing is hypocritical. Art does'nt come in a vaccum. We all built upon each other's art,
style, data, whatever! But as soon an the little kid AI enters the picture, artist go running to ask help from the bully who is very
happy to fuck us up. We may be in trouble because of AI so why do we want more trouble by getting government involved?
All in all, I'm concerned with all the noises these bigger artist are making. they are thinking ahead, but not beyond the ahead.
So here's what I see beyond the "ahead". Suppose artists gets what they want. I envision, artist gets their artstyles copyrighted.
In order for government to protect/regulate these god damned artstyles, it will issue a new license called artist's license, similar
to a drivers license. Because that's the only thing the government knows of doing when protecting/regulating a profession.
We all know what licenses means, a barrier to entry.barrier to post art, barrier to what ever. barrier barrier barrier. barrier everywhere.
And you know what license requires? Personal information. This means NSFW artists like me will need to reveal my true identity.
Which is probably fine in countries that are legal to to produce NSFW stuff. In my case not so much because I don't live in such
countries. And that means less dakzky stuff for all of you. less stuff for all of you people.
These god damn louder artist is gonna bulldoze other artists with this shit. they will probably gonna be happy for a while. until
the government expands it's power. "We regulate you so we can now censor you more". Sooner or later there will less and less art in
this world. And then what will artists gonna do? rebel against the system they created. GTFO.
Honestly, I rather be drown by AI art than have the government decide my fate.
I urge you to share this message to every big names out there. please share this video as far as possible
